TGF450 Thermal mass flow meter

Thermal Mass Flow Meter

The high-contrast graphical display of thermal mass flow measurement sensors simultaneously displays flow rate, temperature, total flow, a bar graph, and diagnostic data. Our new digitally-driven circuit replaces our competitors’ standard drift-prone analogue Wheatstone bridge.
This improvement in circuit design enhances stability by removing long-term drift and ensuring a repeatable zero flow data point.
The user can undertake a simple single-point in-situ calibration verification technique using the repeatable zero flow data flow point, which ensures that the thermal mass flow meter installation continues to operate within the accuracy standards of the original NIST traceable calibration

Advantages at a glance:

  • Minimum flow rate down to 0.3m/s, 1:100 super-wide turndown ratio
  • Compressed air, Nitrogen, non-corresive flow measurement
  • pulse and RS485 as a standard, Hart@4~20mA for option
  • Hot tapping install, support isntall under pressure
  • Bluetooth app offer very easy friendly operating interface

FAQ’s

The thermal mass meter uses the principle of convective heat transfer to measure gas flow. The gas passes over the heated flow sensor, and the gas molecules transport heat away, causing the sensor to cool and energy to be lost. The probe of the meter is inserted into the gas stream of a pipe, stack, or duct in either situation.

Thermal mass flow measurements are typically used to determine the rate of gas flow. The flow of material is directed past a heated element as the principle of action.

In contrast to most other systems that detect volumetric flow and require separate measurements for temperature and pressure in order to determine density and, eventually, mass flow, the thermal Mass Flow Meter installation or thermal mass flow controllers can provide a direct measurement of mass flow.

There are two types of thermal flow meters: rate of heat loss flowmeters and temperature rise flowmeters.

The sensor is placed in one of many test sections adopting the best thermal mass flow meter technology, a known volume of gas has flowed through the pipe, and the signal is measured to obtain the desired overheat. This is repeated at least 12 times during the working range.
